Our Steps Can Be Ordered by the Lord

April 10th, 2015

I believe a scripture that we really need to believe for every day and all the time is Psalms 37:23, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.” If you have received Jesus into your life as your Lord and Savior then you are good in Christ Jesus and you can claim that all your steps are ordered by the Lord. What a great promise that we will always be at the right place at the right time because our steps are ordered by the Lord.  So when it comes to business opportunities, job opportunities, witnessing opportunities or any kind of good deals, we can always be at the right place at the right time to be a blessing or to get a blessing.

This is one reason why our Friday night street ministry goes so well. Every Friday night that we go out God leads us to the right street to talk to that person who is ripe and ready to hear the Gospel. If we will continue to listen to the Holy Spirit He will even show us the right words to say.  A good example of this was this past Friday night. A Good Samaritan type woman had picked up a 17 year old girl off the streets of East St. Louis out of concern for the girls safety. She had been telling the girl that God would take care of her. Not long after that, the Good Samaritan lady pulled into the metro link parking lot where we had just gotten out of our van to witness. When we gave food and drink to the woman and the 17 year old girl she had picked up, the lady said to the young girl, “see I told you God would take care of you.” Needless to say, after I blessed the 17 year old girl with provision and witnessed to her about Jesus, she ended up praying with me to get saved.

If we will claim and believe Psalm 37:23, everyday of our lives can be fruitful and exciting like this.

The Word of God is Alive and Powerful

March 30th, 2015

I want to start this by saying just how much I love the Word of God and how special it is to me and my life. A lot of people can quote the scripture from Hebrews 4:12 which that says the Word of God is alive and powerful but yet I hear people say that they are having trouble getting into the Word or that it is dry to them. If people will just get a revelation that when we read the Word it is not like reading an encyclopedia where you just get head knowledge. Jesus said my Words are Spirit and Life so when we read the Word, the Spirit and Life of the Word is going into us which changes us and transforms us. The first few years I was saved I could really feel and see the Word of God changing me drastically because I was coming from such a dark sinful past. Now when I read the Word I know that by faith it is still changing me for the better and according to Proverbs 4: 22 it is health to all my flesh.

God’s Magnificent Love for Us

March 17th, 2015

One of the most important things we can do as Christians is to spend a lot of time thinking about and meditating on how much God loves us. Knowing and believing the surpassing love that God has for us will help free us from stress, worry, and depression. The more revelation knowledge we have of God’s love for us, the more confidence we will have that God will never let us down and that He will always have our back. Because we know He loves we know we can trust Him to watch over His Word to perform it in our life if we will only believe.

To Reap a Harvest, You Must Plant Seed

March 11th, 2015

Second Timothy 4:5 tells us to do the work of an evangelist which means every born again believer is to do the work of an evangelist.  One of the jobs of an evangelist is to plant seed and that is simply preaching or sharing the Word of God with people. Any intelligent farmer knows that if he wants a wheat harvest he must plant wheat seed or if he wants a crop of corn he must plant corn seed. A smart farmer also knows that if you want a big crop you must plant a lot of seed and if you want a small crop you plant a little bit of seed. I know this sounds simple but yet how many ministers and Christians are praying and believing for a big harvest of souls to come into the Kingdom but yet they never plant any seed. If you want to see a big harvest of souls saved then go and witness to everyone around you. If you just want a little harvest of souls saved then go do just a little witnessing. The size of the crop always depends on the seed sower which is us.

That None Should Perish

December 4th, 2010

Today I want to share a testimony from the Street Evangelism outreach of December 3rd that will illustrate the importance of relying upon the leading of the Holy Spirit as we are ministering to people. When we started the night out I had a neighborhood in mind that I was going to go to and when I was about to turn left onto a street to go that neighborhood the Holy Spirit gave me a check and then directed me to go straight instead. Continuing down that street we encountered a couple who Read the rest of this entry »

Outreaches are Work

October 8th, 2010

I have just returned from my annual outreach to the Navajo Indians at the Northern Nation Navajo Fair in Shiprock, New Mexico. I have spent most of my adult life doing outreaches and mission trips. Sometimes I went as a participant under another ministry and sometimes I have led the trip or outreach. Missions trips are fun, being able to see new sights and experience a different culture, and they can be life changing not only for those who are the target of the ministry but also for the participants of the trip but we also need to realize that ministry is hard work. After all, Jesus said in His word, “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:38. Notice the word laborers. I have been on different outreaches Read the rest of this entry »

Wherever Your Foot Shall Tread

September 28th, 2010

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010 I am heading off for the long journey from St. Louis to Shiprock, New Mexico to minister to the Navajo Indians at the 99th annual Shiprock Northern Navajo Nation Fair. There will be at least 120,000 Navajos at the parade on Saturday, October 2nd. I will be taking 6 other people with me; 5 students from the St. Louis Dream Center Ministry Academy and one man from the Genesis program. We will also be meeting a couple from Joel Osteen’s church in Lakewood, Texas down in Shiprock. We will be loaded with Gospel material to pass out. We will have around 15,000 Gospel tracts, 2000 Jesus stickers, over 1000 salvation bracelets, Navajo Bibles and other material to pass out. Pray that the material will get into the right hands and that it will bear much fruit and that we will have many divine appointments.

The scripture I feel like God has given me for this outreach is Joshua 1:3, “Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you…” I believe that we as the body of Christ need to start claiming this scripture for our neighborhoods, schools, cities, workplaces and wherever we go, claiming that people are going to be saved and that revival is going to take place wherever our foot shall tread. Joshua 1:3 was not written Read the rest of this entry »

Soul Winning is Not for Wimps

August 31st, 2010

Some people may want to argue or disagree with me on this point but I believe a Christian who wins souls for Christ is going to encounter a lot more attacks from the kingdom of darkness than a Christian who just warms a pew every Sunday. This is one reason why soul winning is not for wimps. In case you haven’t noticed we are in a spiritual war. The devil wants to bring as many people to hell with him as possible and God wants everyone to go to heaven. 2 Peter 3:9b says that God is, “not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” On the other hand the devil comes to kill, steal and destroy.

I can especially notice this warfare when it gets close to an outreach where a lot of people are going to get saved. Read the rest of this entry »
