For a long time I have felt like my kids have outgrown some of their toys and stuffed animals and I have been wanting them to weed them out to give some of them away. Besides, they were running out of space in their rooms because they had so many stuffed animals. Finally, we had a breakthrough. Two of our kids went through their stuffed animals and decided to sow some of them to kids in the inner city. Last week we had a great time of ministry in central Kansas. On Saturday I taught our Evangelism Workshop at Faith Bible College (of Faith Community Church) in Great Bend and then preached at Faith Community Church on Sunday morning. We were on staff at Faith Community for 5 ½ years as youth pastors and associate pastors before moving to St. Louis. On Sunday afternoon we drove about 30 miles Northwest of Great Bend through the beautiful prairie and farmland of Kansas to preach at Harvest Church in La Crosse, Kansas which is the same church that we pastored for 3 years during our time in Great Bend. Needless to say it was great fellowshipping with our friends and acquaintances.

The message God gave me for these 2 churches was from 2 Timothy 4:5, “do the work of an evangelist”. The body of Christ for the most part has been faithful in praying, giving and working in the local church and even doing acts of love but we have not been (more…)
