Listen to That Still Small Voice

In 1 Kings 19: 11-12 Elijah the prophet said the Lord passed by and there was a great and strong wind but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake there was a fire but the Lord was not in the fire. Then there was a still small voice. In verses 15 and 16 this still small voice gave Elijah instructions on where he was to go and told him to anoint Hazel to be king over Syria and Jehu the son of Nimshi to be king over Israel. When it comes to witnessing, and in every area of life, it is so important that we learn to listen to and obey that still small voice of the Holy Spirit.

At one of our latest outreaches in Salina, Kansas I saw, as I had in times before, the importance of being led by the Holy Spirit. There were a couple of different times while I was ministering at that farm show when I was about to leave the Fellowship of Christian Farmers booth to take a break but I got a check by the Holy Spirit in my spirit to not leave. The Holy Spirit proved faithful in this because great divine appointments would follow. On one of the these occasions six Cloud County Community College students came along and I was able to pour my life into them, ministering for quite a while about how to be saved and how to live the Christian life. All six of those kids prayed with me to receive Jesus. (more…)
