Shiprock Missions Trip
On Wednesday morning, September 30th, I and 5 students from the Ministry Academy in St. Louis began the long journey to the Navajo Nation in New Mexico. On our way we stopped at Faith Community Church in Great Bend, Kansas where we testified and ministered at their youth group. We spent the night at Faith Community and then on Thursday drove on to Navajo Ministries in Farmington, New Mexico where we stayed during our time in New Mexico.

Outside Navajo Ministries
Friday morning we were able to testify and minister at the Navajo Ministries early morning devotional meeting. One of the Ministry Academy students, Jimmy led praise and worship at this meeting. They then asked us to be guests on the morning show of their Christian radio station KNMI which reaches into parts of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Utah. In other words God sent out the air force to soften resistance before sending out the ground troops to minister at the Northern Navajo Nation Fair in Shiprock.

Jimmy and Jeff ministering to a self proclaimed satanist. He ended up praying to give his life to Christ.
One of the highlights of the trip was when we were able to share with a 16 year old Navajo youth dressed in black. He told us he was a satan worshipper, drew pentagrams all over, cut himself, and had been suicidal. He felt he couldn’t receive Jesus because he was a satan worshipper but we were able to convince him otherwise and he prayed to give his life to Christ. We laid hands on him and anointed him with oil and then he fell under the power of God onto the floor near our booth in one of the fair buildings with people walking all around him. He began to shake and I then cast devils out of him. When he got up off the floor he was a changed man and his face wasn’t as pale looking as it was before.

Wolf Creek Pass.
On Sunday we returned to central Kansas passing through Wolf Creek Pass and the beautiful Rocky Mountains in Colorado. We were again privileged to stay at Faith Community Church in Great Bend, Kansas and minister at Marty Steinert’s youth group Sunday evening giving testimonies of what God did in Shiprock. Our students and the Faith Community youth group seemed to bond really well together.
All in all it was a fun and fruitful trip. The Ministry Academy students were a blessing to have on this trip. They worked very hard and every time they were given opportunities to minister and testify they did a great job. From the feedback I got and from what I observed it seems that the Navajo Nation, missionary work and evangelism got into their blood and they will never be the same.
I want to send out a special Thank You to Faith Community Church and Navajo Ministries for your hospitality to us on this trip. You are an important part of what God did in and through us.
