Jeff Goss Ministries – Our Purpose

Prayer

The backbone of any ministry is prayer, therefore it is an important part of Jeff Goss Ministries and why we include it as part of our purpose. In the Bible we read that we are to “Pray without ceasing” (I Thessalonians 5:17 KJV) which is emphasized again in Ephesians, “With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit… (Ephesians 6:18 NASB). God said that His house “shall be called a house of prayer for all nations” (Isaiah 56:7 NKJV). That word nations is referring to peoples or people groups. To reach the lost and dying of this world we believe it is first necessary to pray for them. We believe that all ministry will be more effective with prayer and fasting.

Evangelism

There are many people who have yet to receive the wonderful gift of salvation that is available to us. Our heart is “…not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9 NASB). Whenever and wherever we can we will plant the seed of the gospel message in the hearts of those people and, as the Holy Spirit leads, pray with them to make Jesus their Lord. This includes witnessing while living our daily lives, as well as the specifically planned evangelistic outreaches locally, in the United States and around the world.

Leading Others in Evangelism

As an evangelist, I want to provide opportunities for others to join me in reaching the unsaved. Paul said in 1 Corinthians to “Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.” (1 Corinthians 11:1 NASB). In allowing others to come along they can begin by observing and, realizing that evangelism is not hard or scary, they can catch the fire to share the gospel with those around them. The command in Mark 16, “…Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” (Mark 16:15 NASB) is for every Christian. “…The harvest is so great, but the workers are so few. Pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest, and ask him to send out more workers for his fields.” (Luke 10:2 NLT). We need to answer the call.
